Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a volunteer?
Simply click the button below.

How does a child attend a Special Spectators game day event?
Generally, we partner with a children’s hospital in the community where an event takes place and work with their staff to select families.  Though we aren’t a wish granting organization, we do accept qualified families when contacted directly by them.  Our events range in size from 10 – 100 people with the average around 25.

How is Special Spectators funded?
Special Spectators is funded primarily by private donations and corporate support.  All tickets have been donated to Special Spectators by athletic departments and professional teams – worth approximately $250,000 since 2002.  We are a completely volunteer-based organization – we have no paid staff or offices.

How do you select the universities as partners?
Each year we introduce Special Spectators to athletic departments and ask for the participation.  Once a school agrees, they select the game and number of tickets to donate.  Our dedicated volunteers design, create and host the events.

How can my company learn more about sponsorships?
We would be happy to discuss the different levels of sponsorships available.  Please click the “Contact” tab, send us an email and someone will respond shortly
